Dosing schedule

The table below reports the doses used in the underlying research or by the community — it is documentation, not a recommendation to replicate at home.

Phase Dose Notes
Practical substitute 100 mcg the pathway is dosed via Ipamorelin / GHRP-2 / GHRP-6, 1–3× daily

Timing & cycling

Native ghrelin has a very short half-life and is used in research by infusion. In practice, people target this pathway with GH-secretagogue peptides instead.

Cycle length. Not applicable as a standalone consumer peptide.

Storage & handling

Keep the lyophilized (unmixed) vial refrigerated at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F) in a dry, dark place — it tolerates short periods at room temperature during shipping. Once reconstituted, store it at 2–8 °C, never frozen, and use it within about 2–4 weeks (sooner if the solution turns cloudy or discolored). Swab the stopper before every draw and use a fresh needle each time.

Key points

  • Native ghrelin itself is not a practical injectable — its half-life is minutes and research uses continuous infusion.
  • For the effect people actually want (GH release, appetite), the mimetics on this site are the real-world route — see Ipamorelin, GHRP-2, GHRP-6.

What to monitor

If using a secretagogue substitute, follow that peptide's page (appetite, IGF-1, glucose).

Legal & prescription status

No legal prescription exists. It is an unapproved research chemical, sold only for laboratory research and labelled 'not for human consumption.' It is not FDA-approved for any human use.
